Samuel Horder Whatley


Samuel Horder
born Donhead St. Mary, Wiltshire on 9th of December 1841
son of 
Charles Whatley & 
Selina Horder

He married Elizabeth Fry at the Bicentennary Memorial Church in Broad Chalke, Wiltshire on the 10th of May 1871.

He died 25th of November 1909.

 The executors of his will were his son Charles William Whatley and his cousin Edward Jeeves Horder.

 

Samuel first appears in the 1851 census aged 9 with his parents and 5 siblings ( Maria 10, William 7, Thomas 4, Elizabeth 3, and Ebenezer 1) at Hall in the village of Charlton in the parish of Donhead St. Mary. Samuel is listed as a Scholar.

He is as yet to be found in the 1861 and 1871 census's, but reappears as Head of household in the 1881 census living at Ridgeway Farm, Laverstoke, Hampshire, with his wife and 6 children.
