Set on a tranquil island surrounded by England's longest water-filled medieval moat. Explore the Tudor mansion that evolved from the former Augustinian Priory. Beautiful grounds include a physic garden, herbaceous borders and sculpture trail. Watermill, smithy and rope museum.

Windmill Hill Windmill (Herstmonceux) (www.windmillhill.fsnet.co.uk)

Situated in 1066 country, the second tallest and largest Post Mill in body size. Dating from 1815, the mill last worked by wind in 1894. Supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, the European Union and the European Agricultural and Guidance and Guarantee Fund for the provision of the interpretation centre. Please note the windmill is only open between 2.30 and 5.00 on Sundays in the summer.

Established in 1946 Limes Cross nurseries have grown into a specialist nursery/plant centre under the same family ownership. Lime Cross has, over the last 25 years, built up a reputation for the huge range of ornamental conifers it grows. In addition, a jointly owned company, Sussex Plants, grows an extensive range of trees, shrubs and climbing plants. All of which are available through the plant centre.
