'CONWAY THE CAT AND THE BIG GREEN TANK.'

It was a warm summers day
in the village of Ouse,
where Conway the cat was
preparing to snooze.

He'd just had a snack
fishfingers and cream,
this was the food that made
Conway dream.

With a twitch of his whiskers
and a shake of his paw,
the dream was beginning and
he started to snore.

Then the roar of an engine
and the fire of a gun,
he was driving a tank,
this was going to be fun.

He drove up a hill,
then down a riverbank,
there was no stopping Conway
in his big green tank.

He fired his gun at the clouds
in the sky,
then he had to stop
to let some birds pass by.

He whizzed through the fields
at such a fast pace,
Conway the soldier had
a smile on his face.

He roared past a farm
and then a windmill,
then past a tractor driven
by old farmer Bill.

Down a deep valley
and then through a stream,
the splash of the water
made his tank nice and clean.

Conway slowed down
and stopped his tank,
then from a can of pop
he thirstily drank.

It was tiring work
all this driving around,
so he climbed from his tank
and jumped to the ground.
He walked a few paces
and then turned around,
because he heard a rumbling sound.

'Oh no!' Said Conway
and he started to shake,
'I didn't put on my tanks handbrake.'

As he said those words
his tank rolled past,
to say no one was driving
it was going quite fast.

It smashed through a barn
and shot through a hedge,
then over an allotment
and squashed lots of veg.

Soon after that the tank came to a halt,
Conway saw the mess,
it was all his fault.

When old farmer Bill saw his barn,
he was very upset,
he couldn't keep calm.

Then the sound of a siren
and a Police car was there,
a Policeman climbed out
and gave Conway a stare.

'Boo, hoo!' Cried Conway
and let out a wail,
'It was only an accident,
don't send me to jail.'

Then he heard another siren,
it gave him a shock,
but it wasn't the Police
it was his alarm clock.

The big green tank
was no-where to be seen,
Conway just smiled,
it had all been a dream.

THE END.
