The photographs below show Aldridge Urban District Council offices which were also demolished as part of the shopping centre development. Aldridge used to hold an annual carnival at which a Carnival Queen was crowned. Here we can see Sir Cliff Tibbits with a Carnival Queen and her attendants on the steps of the council offices.

This photograph shows the local police marching up Anchor Road with the Police Station behind. Given that the trees are not in leaf and the shadows are long, it is possibly part of a November Remembrance Day parade.
