PICTURES OF ALDRIDGE - NOW AND THEN

THE CROFT - LOOKING TOWARDS ST MARYS PARISH CHURCH
The avenue of chestnut trees was planted by 'The Friends of The Croft' after a successful High Court action to prevent the construction of an access road across the Croft to the shopping precinct.
THE GREEN - ALDRIDGE The high walls that surrounded Manor Farm are now gone. The line of the road has been changed so that Little Aston Road now takes a straighter line. The Cenotaph was moved out of the church yard onto the piece of the Croft that became an 'island' between the old road and the new, and is now a prominent landmark in Aldridge

MASONIC HALL - THE GREEN The Masonic Hall 'The Compass Suite' now stands on the site formerly occupied by the Manor Farm Buildings at the junction of The Green with Little Aston Road. A particularly well known view of old Aldridge is that below of the Manor Farm Duck Pond, which was to the left as you entered through the gate way in the picture above.
