Five Go Mad in Manhattan
When Boyzone jetted off to the Big Apple recently, TV HITS tagged along to get all the goss!
In true pop star style, the boys travelled everywhere in an enormous white limo - subtle huh?! Except for the time Ronan and Stephen had to get to the Hard Rock Café in a real hurry and the limo was nowhere to be seen - so they bundled themselves into a yellow cab!
This was the first time Keith had been to NY - and he was completely blown away by the city and can't wait to go back! Shane on the other hand, isn't too keen on the Big Apple - he'd rather stay at home in Dublin instead. Perhaps he's getting too well travelled!
Stephen and Shane had a quiet night out at the piccies where they saw Men In Black and thought it was absolutely fantastic! Now they're both completely convinced the earth is full of under-cover aliens - and who can blame 'em eh?!
Not much partying went on as the boys were completely jet-lagged and wanted to sleep all the time! However, Mikey and Shane did find time to pop down to the bar where Mikey's sister works to say hello. Aaaw, bless!
After a slap-up meal the guys met up again to do a TV show at 11 o'clock that night. In good spirits, Mikey leapt up on the news desk with the presenter and they sang New York, New York together!
There was a bit of a trauma when the guys visited the Disney store and li'l Steo disappeared for ages! They finally found the sad fella, who'd been hunting high and low for some limited Disney stamps - with no success. But he soon cheered up when he was assured he'd get some in Orlando!
The cowboy hat that Ronan wears in loads of pictures was purchased during one of his shopping sprees in Manhattan's trendy SoHo. He saw it, tried it on and fell so in love with the thing he couldn't bear to take it off again!
Once the sales assistant realised there were famous people in the house he gave them VIP treatment - he even tried to introduce the boys as a hugely famous band from Ireland... to their own photographer!
While in mind-blowing Nike Town (trainer heaven) the guys all spent loads of dosh on new togs, but the cutest purchase of all has to be the teeny trainers that Keith bought for baby Jordan!
When the boys did a photo shoot in the famous Times Square (which they practically brought to a standstill!) a huge crowd of onlookers gathered round - although none of them were entirely sure who Boyzone were!
When the lads performed at New York's Hard Rock Café, two of Ronan's brothers who live over there came along to offer some moral support. The place was, in fact, packed out with pop pickers who'd seen the boys promoting their mini-tour on the very popular TV chat show, Regis and Kathy Lee, that morning!
