Singapore Indoor Stadium - 7th September 1997

The Boyzone concert was a blast, what can we say... I'm sure every Boyzone concert is excellent. I cannot remember the order of the songs or maybe even what they sang... I have a vague memory of what happen cos I was too excited.

This concert was dedicated to Diana, Princess of Wales.

They kicked off the concert with the song "Strong Enough" with Shane sounding so cool rapping that little bit. They appeared in black suits which had white print on them... you know one of those suits which illuminate in light. They kind of remind you of skeleton suits people wear on Halloween.

Well the highlights of the evening were..

  1. We had a minute of silence throughout the entire stadium as a sign of respect for Princess Diana. It's nice to see the whole stadium quiet for a whole minute... you know after all the screaming.
  2. Mikey picking up a lite stick (a kind of lighted stick) and staring at it for a whole 5 seconds and Keith accidentally hitting him. Then he remembered he had to get back to his dancing.
  3. Ronan sticking out his tongue 2 times.
  4. Steve spasming out. He was going all out dancing... like there was no tomorrow. You would think that you were at a Michael Jackson concert.
  5. Steve's solo spot, singing Don't Stop Looking For Love in a white suit.
  6. A fan threw a Peter Rabbit cuddly toy (awww... cuddly like Steo) at him and he wiped his sweat with it and threw it back into the audience.
  7. Ronan in his oh so perfect suit holding a champagne coloured rose and throwing it into the audience. But missing them completely, landing on the bottom of the stage in front.
  8. Fans throwing lite sticks at the Boyz... (I was praying that none hit them) while they were performing "A Different Beat" you know what part in the concert where they turn around while little Stephen is singing his heart out, (aww...) the Boyz all looked worried and put their hands on their heads, afraid that they will get hit by a lite stick.
  9. They did the Motown Medley they did for the "European MTV Music Awards"... you know, the one they did with Peter Andre. Shane and Mikey sang Peter's parts way better than he did. Way to go!
  10. Steve making eye contact with his fans all the time! Thank you Steve for smiling and waving at the whole group of us.

The songs they sang in no order were... Paradise, Here to Eternity, Don't Stop Looking For Love, So Good, Love Me For a Reason, Father and Son, I'll Be There, Believe In Me, Motown Medley, A Different Beat, Words, Strong Enough, What Can You Do For Me and Together.

That is all I can remember cos I was too much in dreamland during the concert. All those who have been to a Boyzone concert would understand.

Oh well... although this is Boyzone's fourth visit to Singapore, this is their first concert in Singapore. A concert well done. "We'll be back... see you soon," Ronan's last words when the concert ended.

Ronan and Steve are so gorgeous. Heh heh heh... Gosh... golly... anyway...gotta go...
