A message from Sue Nash
Thank you
to everyone at the Wednesday Fellowship for the lovely fuschia
plant you gave me and also the Gift Voucher. I will enjoy browsing
at the village “Over-the-Moon” shop before
spending it.
After nearly
ten years with the meeting, Wednesday afternoons will be very
different for me. Thank you all so much for your friendship and
support – what wonderful memories we all have of our
Wednesday afternoons together.
I would like
to say a very special “thank you” to
Muriel for all she has contributed to the Fellowship over many,
many years. She has always been there, caring for everyone and
giving the meeting her full support. Thank you, Muriel.
A special “thank you” also
to Elsie, who has worked tirelessly for us in many different
ways, but especially for Network. Thank you, Elsie for all the
support you have given.
Thanks must also go to our pianists, Joan Bailey and Joan Tolhurst,
and to those who have organised the cups of tea, biscuits, and
often cakes, and to others who have regularly helped in various
ways. Thank you all.
A special “thank you” to
our very reliable minibus/car drivers, Chris, Tony and Ray.
It is a long time ago since the first meeting took place, 75
years in fact. As those years have passed, changes have taken place
and now it is time for another change. The Wednesday Fellowship
as we have known it for a very long time has come to an end, and
it is time to look forward to September and to fresh beginnings
with Rosemary. I will think of you, pray for you, and I will not
forget you and the great times we have shared together. Thank you
so much. God Bless you all. Sue.
A big “Thank you” to
Church Members and Friends for the Garden Gift Voucher and lovely
begonia plant which was given to me at the Garden Party. Thank
you to Elizabeth and Tony for welcoming us back to Stonehaven
this summer. We all enjoyed your wonderful hospitality. Sue.
A message from Elsie Dodman
Wednesday
4 th July 2007 , the Church Garden Party at the lovely home of
Elizabeth and Tony Manning was a really good afternoon in spite
of the showers. Some hardy souls stayed under the gazebo, the
rest of us went indoors for a delightful “Faith Tea” – everyone
had brought a plate of cakes or savouries and forty of us enjoyed
sharing it all. The rain eased up so we went into the garden for
a special presentation from the Church to Sue Nash, a beautiful
plant and a Garden Token to thank her for all her hard work in
keeping the Wednesday Fellowship running to its closure, after
seventy-five years in existence.
Two previous
leaders were present, Muriel Martin (1993-1995) and Queenie Ponting
(1982-1993), and were also given a pretty plant much to their
surprise, a nice gesture. Then we all gathered round for a photograph
as Sue, Muriel and Queenie cut the strawberry cream cake to celebrate
a lovely afternoon. We all thank Elizabeth and Tony for their
hospitality.
In September we all hope to meet again with Rosemary, with possibly
a simpler format, we must wait and see.
