The death of Gail Bond filled everyone with extreme sadness. Maureen Sismey and Mary Flint were privileged to attend the Celebration of Gail’s life at Sherwood Forest Crematorium, Nottinghamshire, and to see at first hand her little daughter, Mollie. Maureen and Mary took flowers bought with part of the collection of monies from our church family and the £100 remaining will be sent to the Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice that has been so caring to the whole Bond family.

Brenda writes:

“Her suffering is now over, and there has been an enormous amount of that over the past few months, I am glad I found the strength to see her that one last time in her chapel. Looking every inch my little Gail, asleep peacefully. Please thank everyone for the cards and floral tribute. It made us feel very humble that so very many people care.”

You can shed tears that she is gone, or you can smile because she has lived.

You can close your eyes and pray that she’ll come back, or you can open your eyes and see all she’s left.

Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her, or you can be full of the love you shared.

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

You can remember her and only that she’s gone, or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.

You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back, or you can do what she’d want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
