Week of prayer for Christian unity

To celebrate 100 years of Prayer for Christian Unity, and 25 years of the Ecumenical chaplaincy at the Abbey, all churches throughout the St Albans Diocese are invited to a special service of celebration on Sunday 20 th January from 4 pm to 7.30 pm.

• 4 pm Opening act of worship in the Nave
• 4.15 pm The London Community Gospel Choir
• 5 pm The Salvation Army Band
• 5.30 pm Guest Speaker: Pam Rhodes, Songs of Praise
• 6.30 pm Thanksgiving Service with the Cathedral Choir

And the London Community Gospel Choir. Preacher: Fr Timothy Radcliffe OP, the leading Catholic Theologian and writer.

Unity Trail, Together making a difference : Throughout the afternoon the cathedral will be filled with stalls and displays highlighting Christian groups and projects making a difference to the world.

Also from 4 pm to 6.30 the Magical World of Mr Marvel, children’s entertainment and activities, and refreshments.

We are invited to join as groups or as individuals for some or all of the afternoon.

Wrinkles should merely indicate where smiles have been.
