Revised: 25-Jan-08

This year Fairtrade Fortnight is 25 th February to 9 th March.

The Fair Trade campaign continues apace. The application to have Three Rivers (including Abbots Langley) declared a Fairtrade area has been submitted to the Fairtrade Foundation and we await the result. This means that there are 20 shops and 8 cafés/restaurants in the district selling two or more Fairtrade items.

It is great that five of the catering outlets are in Abbots Langley, but sadly only three of the shops in the village are able to support the cause. However, we have been well supported by the local churches, schools and businesses, community coffee shop and voluntary organisations as well as the Parish Council.
