More than 150 Christians from the Watford Area met for a VISION DAY to learn more about “Fresh Expressions of being Church” at St Michael’s Catholic School in Garston.

The nationwide movement, set up by the Archbishops of Canterbury and York, is in 750 locations already and seeks to rethink conventional worship models in ways that are more relevant to today’s society.

Workshops took place on engaging with the club scene, the un-churched, young people, and those seeking spiritual relevance in their lives.

Society has changed so much in the last thirty years, but have churches stayed relatively still?

Chris Nash from the Watford circuit led the organizing group of Anglicans and Methodists, and said “It was a very successful day with a terrific response. People came to find out more and have now returned to their locality fired up to put in place what is best for their neighbourhood.”

Information on the Fresh Expressions initiative can be found through the

www.freshexpressions.org.uk website.
