Gill’s ordination will take place during this year’s
Methodist Conference which is being held in Scarborough.
A number of
ordination services will take place on Sunday July 6th at 4 pm
at neighbouring churches in the area, and Gill’s
is to be held at the Toll Gavell United Methodist Church in Beverley,
which is north of Hull.
There is a limited allocation of tickets for the Watford circuit,
and Tony Manning has volunteered to co-ordinate the applications
and transport arrangements.
There are
three possible means of travel. Transport by road, using car-
sharing and lifts. Starting at 10 am for the 4 pm start will
allow for a good stop for lunch on the way, and possible traffic
jams. We would expect to be back about 10.30 pm. I have estimated
the cost for a family car to be about £60 on fuel and wear
and tear, so with a driver and three passengers that is about £15
each.
It is possible to go by rail, and the National Rail website indicated
departing from Stevenage at 10.50 with two changes, arriving at
14.26.
Returning
you catch the 18.19 from Beverley, arriving at Stevenage at 21.44.
I was quoted £24 for an adult fare, booking six
weeks ahead on a Sunday. This was based on the current timetable,
which may change.
The third
method is to hire a coach or minibus for the majority of the
party, and a local company quoted £600 for a 12-seater,
which is £50 per person.
If you are interested in going, please let Tony know as soon
as possible on 01923 263 982. Please indicate your preferred method
of travel. Car travel is likely to be the most popular, so please
indicate if you either have spare seats or require a lift.
