On 16th April the new carpet was laid in the corridor and vestibule. The contractor came from some distance, but still requested a 6.30 am start! He was persuaded to have his breakfast first, but still got going by 7.30 am, completing the job by 2.30 in the afternoon. Adequate ventilation overnight ensured that the Shoppers' Service and Lunch Club could take place the next day without unpleasant smells from the glues that had been used. We hope you like the appearance and we hope also that it will prove as hard-wearing as its predecessor. |
