The club was formed in 1984 and is one of a number of similar non-affiliated clubs country-wide. It was founded by our secretary and Long Ashton resident, Malcolm Hanson. The club has about 50 members from as far afield as Plymouth and Swindon, though mostly from the Bristol area. We meet at three-monthly intervals in members' houses. Our annual Easter Meccano Exhibition constitutes one of our meetings. At a typical meeting, we show off the models we have built, discuss model building, show each other collectors' items we have acquired and plan the next exhibition. Every year we have a small exhibition of models that members have made. If you are interested in joining us you would be most welcome. Life membership costs £5. Please contact Malcolm Hanson at the following address: Malcolm Hanson 11, Willow Close Long Ashton Bristol BS41 9DT Tel. 01275 544571
