Welcome to the Cardiff Group of Amnesty International

This is the homepage of the Cardiff Group of Amnesty International UK, part of the worldwide movement of Amnesty International. We are an active group based in Cardiff, the capital city of Wales in the UK.

The group meets on the second Monday of each month (except August and Bank Holidays) at 7.30pm. Meetings are held in the Quaker Meeting House (downstairs in the meeting room) on Charles Street in Cardiff city centre, 10 minutes walk from Central Station and the Bus Station. Everyone is welcome.

Forthcoming events

May 14th - New Ways to Take Action for Amnesty

Are you new to Amnesty International? Would you like to do more for Amnesty but never have the time? Would you like to take action for Amnesty but don’t know where to start?

If the answer to any of these is yes, then come along to our May group meeting. The meeting will be both an introduction to Amnesty for new members and a tour of how to get more from Amnesty online, suitable for anyone with no experience of Amnesty or years of it!

We will also share stories of successes we have had to our campaigning and give everyone the chance to take action on the night, whether with pen and paper or online (technology permitting!).

Please come along and bring a friend!

(7.30pm in the Quaker Meeting House in Charles Street)

Our full diary can be found here.

News

On Saturday 24 March we took to the streets of ask the people of Cardiff to join us in calling for the release of Burma's prisoners of conscience. We did this by asking them to add their handprint to our petition which they did in their hundreds!

For details of our Spring/Summer programme please see our April newsletter. Other group news can be found on our news page.
