Our key activities for 2012 will be:

Burma - Human rights abuses in Burma and widespread and systematic with hundreds of opposition supporters in prison.

Djamel Fahassi is an Algerian journalist who "disappeared" after being arrested in Algiers in 1995. We write regularly to the Algerian authorities to to try to get information about Djamel, what happened to him, and where he is now. We also remain in touch with his wife and daughter.

Arms Trade Treaty - In July of this year, world leaders will meet in New York to draw up an historic document: the first ever international Arms Trade Treaty. Amnesty is campaigning to make sure that the treaty is effective and can really save lives.
