2009 Programme of events

The group meets on the second Monday of the month at 7.30pm at the Quaker Meeting House on Charles Street in Cardiff City Centre, just off Queen Street.  We are a mixture of ages and backgrounds and new members are always welcome.

Is Amnesty right to extend its mandate to cover the rights to live in dignity with access to healthcare, education, secure housing and a decent livelihood? We will show the new campaign DVD and then discuss what we think


September 14th 2009 - Campaigning for Individuals

Workshop run by Caroline Butler, Amnesty's regional trainer, looking at how the group can find new ways to campaign for individuals such as Djamel Fahassi, our "disappeared" Algerian journalist whom we have adopted.


October 12th 2009 - Refugees

Guest speaker - Kate Smart, Director of Policy, Communcations and Advocacy from the Welsh Refugee Council.


November 9th 2009 - Algeria
