1. INTRODUCTION
================================================================

Cadell is seen constantly in Amber...usually wenching his way through the
city, starting at one end and working methodically through the various
bars, restaurants, taverns, bawdy houses and local establishment of good
and ill repute (it makes little difference to him apparently).

2. APPEARANCE
================================================================

Cadell is 4' 11" tall and weighs a whopping 220 lbs - and as far as anyone
can tell, none of it is fat.  He has a weathered appearance, his skin lined
with the rigors of life outdoors, of heat and cold and high wind and sea
spray.  He sports a red mane of hair and a matching beard that spills down
to his upper chest.  For all intents and purposes, he appears to look like
a mythical dwarf.  Despite a ruddy appearance, he is reasonably handsome,
though he does not have the classic Amberite features that one would expect
of the men of Amber.

He has no symbol or colors as far as anyone can tell.  He is almost always
dressed in a black and brown form of partial plate and chainmail armor and
carrying his axe, even for formal occasions, state dinners, diplomatic
functions and other social activites.  Needless to say, he's not on
everyone's "first to invite" list.

3. ITEMS
================================================================

Kasimir
----------

Cadell has a battle axe named Kasimir (meaning Enforcer of Peace).  It's a
perfectly sized double-edged battle axe.  He never relinquishes for any
reason, and will walk out rather than handing it over (ie: "You cannot
enter the presence of the King armed".  "Fine - I leave").

Armor
------

Cadell's armor is called Lester (meaning Fortified Place).  As with his
weapons, he does not remove it except when he is alone, and even there,
most people aren't too sure.  The armor is extremely well cared for despite
having a dull black and brown appearance of partial plate and chainmail
armor.  There are never any dents or knicks in it at all.

4. SHADOW
================================================================

As far as anyone knows, Cadell has laid claim to no shadow, no sanctuary or
hiding place.  Now, either that means it's extremely well hidden and no
intruder has ever lived to talk about it, or he doesn't have one.

5. BACKGROUND
================================================================

Cadell is Caine's son, acknowledged in Court and a survivor of the Pattern.
 In some respects, he is his father's son...especially where the wenching
and drinking come in.  In other areas, he's completely different.  He
apparently has none of Caine's sneakiness or conniving mannerism and would
appear to be the complete opposite of his father in that regard.

Cadell has no great love or animosity for his father, having been raised by
his mother in Shadow for only a short period before he was brought to Amber
where he walked the Pattern with some ease, though not in record time.  His
unusual appearance makes him a bit of a social target since Amberites are
classically attractive and never suffer from any type of deformity.  As
such, he has been the butt of jokes and snide comments in Court and
elsewhere, though they usually drop off when he walks into a
room...carrying the axe.  He has proven he is not afraid to use it on
others, irregardless of their rank or status, should they decide they want
to get snarky with him.  Despite his apparent crude mannerisms (which
include, but are not restricted to belching, burping, farting, spitting and
assorted other bodily functions), he is usually very straight with most
people.  He says what he thinks - if they don't like it, no harm done.

6. CURRENT INTERESTS
================================================================

Booze - Cadell likes alcohol, the stronger the better.  He's no averse to
drinking competitions and trying new concoctions, but surprisingly he is
rarely drunk, though he is almost always seen with a mug in his hand.

Women - He also makes no bones about this topic either.  He likes the
ladies though he has a preference for the more common women of the city and
the surrounding shadows, being generally uninterested in the behaviour of
the Ladies of Court (though that doesn't mean he won't look).

Exploration - though he isn't always easy to approach, he does like sea
travel and has done some exploration with his father when he was commanding
various elements of the fleet.  For those who enjoy the travel of the sea
and its beauties, there is a common ground to be talked, discussed and
regaled.

7. Conclusion
================================================================

Cadell has a number of very minor scandals to his name, usually revolving
around him smacking some minor noble in the head with the flat of his axe
for calling him a rude, squat, smelly dwarf.  Of course, there was the
minor incident of the apparent seduction of the third daughter of the
family of Lindor (a minor allied family to Amber) that has been bandied
around.  But since the lady in question has not stepped forward to press
charges (but neither has she stepped forward to refute the claims), there
is not much that is done except gossip about it.
