Costigan's symbol is a crossed tan bull whip and excavation pick on
a brown
background. His colors are tan and brown.
Costigan normally wears a tan and brown 18th century dress coat and
suit to
formal affairs, but if traveling he wears tan slacks and shirt with
matching
vest, and a brown belt, wide brimmed hat and boots. He often
wears a pair of
gold armlets, the occasional ring, and a crystal pendant.
He is often found with a pipe or cigarette when relaxing. He often
extolls
the virtues of Begman tobacco, and owns a small stake in a plantation
there.

Costigan's favorite mode of travel is in his ship "The Eldrich
Explorer".
It is an ironclad steam powered ship that is able to fly. He
often carries
an oversized pistol that looks like it fires exotic ammunition.

Costigan has mentioned this place, and it is known that he spends
time
there, but he has never invited any Family for a visit.

5. BACKGROUND

Costigan is a son of Bleys who was raised away from Amber with his mother
in
Shadow and away from the politics of Amber. He was formally introduced
to
the court and the Pattern 15 years ago. Other than that, Costigan
does not
talk about his past much, but will talk endlessly of his expeditions
to
exotic locations in search of lost knowledge.
Costigan is a renaissance man who, like his father Bleys, dabbles
in a
little of everything. He loves technology that is powered by
magic or
produces a magical effect. Costigan is a good natured person
who loves a
good scrap as much as his research, and looks like a cross between
a rugged
field archaeologist and adventurer. He has a great enthusiasm
for life,
acquiring knowledge, and exploration.

6. CURRENT INTERESTS

Costigan's passions have remained consistent since he arrived in Amber.
He
likes to go exploring, and any excuse for an adventure is usually sufficient
to motivate him to action.

7. Conclusion

Costigan has done nothing to embarrass himself or the crown, and tries
to be
helpful when needed. That is not to say that he slavishly does
what his
elder relatives tell him to do at all times. Bleys, King Random,
Aunt Fiona
and Uncle Benedict are the elders he seems to respect most.
