Amber 2,000 years post-Pattern Fall War is a very different place for those of the blood to grow up.
Because of the need to protect the young from the enemies of Amber and the need for new leaders to
carry on the fight,  young Amberites are given a disciplined education and upbringing.  Shadow is full of
assassins and no playground.  Amber is besieged and needs every Amberite to do their duty.
