Analysis & Selections by
.a.n. .r.ò.c.a.s.
Whether it be
"the race of the day" or a small prize round the gaffs, we will attempt to use our knowledge of the formbook to highlight the fancied horses participating each day and their characteristics and requirements. Hopefully this 'second opinion' provides you with a winner or two each day, or even reinforces your own view on a particular may even convince you to back some of those horses which we feel are the "ones to fear", or have decent eachway claims. whichever is the case, we hope the information is of use to you.
SELECTIONS - For each race, we have given you who, in our view, are the likeliest winners;
(1er CHOICE), as well as
the next best runners (in our view, this can include any horses who could run well at eachway
odds). Any runner from our features are shown before each race's analysis.

¦ .a.n. .r.ò.c.a.s. ¦:¬>- If Perratus gets into the race (she is currently second reserve) she would be the choice. Her recent seconds to Miguel Cervantes and Vanilla Sky would make her difficult to beat. In her absence, Sunny Afternoon, [a good second to the well-fancied Anna Frid at Fairyhouse on her debut] gets the vote.
¦ 1er. _ THE WINNER?¹ ¦:¬>- Perratus
¦ 2nd place?² ¦:¬>- Sunny Afternoon,
¦ 3rd place?³ ¦:¬>- Evelyn One,

¦ .a.n. .r.ò.c.a.s. ¦:¬>- Sophisticat, who overcame trouble in running to win in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot is the first test of the well being of the Ballydoyle "A-team". Despite her Group 1 penalty, she makes plenty of appeal here and Dress To Thrill, Fallen Star, Marionnaud, and Carallia will be hoping that she under performs significantly .. she will need to for them to land the prize.
¦ 1er. _ THE WINNER?¹ ¦:¬>- Sophisticat (USA).
¦ 2nd place?² ¦:¬>- Dress To Thrill,
¦ 3rd place?³ ¦:¬>- Marionnaud, [e/w]

¦ .a.n. .r.ò.c.a.s. ¦:¬>- Mr Mahoose, Antrim Coast, Business Elite, Osterhase, D'Anjou, One More Round, Khaisara, Mr Houdini, Social Harmony, Elbeo's Dream, and Caeribland, make most appeal in the third. Antrim Coast, has been in the form of his life this and comes here on the back of two easy wins, at
Fairyhouse and more recently at the Curragh last weekend. He is 16lbs higher than beginning his winning run and that may stop him. Business Elite, who has been racing well recently (including finishing behind Antrim Coast at Fairyhouse). He is on a handy mark here and is taken to reverse placings with Antrim Coast at these more advantageous weight. Topweight D'Anjou is a bit of an enigma but on his day is a useful performer. He could go well at eachway odds.
¦ 1er. _ THE WINNER?¹ ¦:¬>- Business Elite,
¦ 2nd place?² ¦:¬>- Antrim Coast,
¦ 3rd place?³ ¦:¬>- D'Anjou, [e/w]

¦ .a.n. .r.ò.c.a.s. ¦:¬>- Millstreet, Sights On Gold, Kournakova, Almost Famous. and Mkuzi all have claims in the fourth. John Oxx's pair Millstreet and Mkuzi appeal most, and I wouldnt be surprised if
Mkuzi has improved enough to win this. There was 4 1/2lengths between them when Millstreet beat
Mkuzi won at the Curragh in June, however Mkuzi has impressed in winning his most recent starts at the
Curragh and most recently here over course and distance three weeks ago. I suspect the booking of Frankie Dettori to be significant and he is taken to win
his first listed prize.
¦ 1er. _ THE WINNER?¹ ¦:¬>- Mkuzi
¦ 2nd place?² ¦:¬>- Millstreet,

¦ .a.n. .r.ò.c.a.s. ¦:¬>- Hawk Wing, Grandera, Best Of The Bests, Margarula, No Excuse Needed, and Rebelline look to be the major players in an intriguing renewal of the Irish Champion Stakes. The key to this is surely the pace,,,, Will
Sholokhov set a slow pace and attempt to turn this event into a sprint?... or will Best of the Bests ensure a fast pace for
Grandera......I don't believe this is a two horse race because Rebelline , and
Margarula are ladies with venomous strikes who will be waiting to pounce when it matters most at the business end of the race. I am a little worried about his general well-being, however Hawk Wing on his Guineas/Derby form is a hard horse to knock and if he is able to translate that level of form... I think he can land the prize. If there are any chinks in the armour then Grandera does look likeliest to benefit .
¦ 1er. _ THE WINNER?¹ ¦:¬>- Hawk Wing (USA).
