Analysis & Selections by
.a.n. .r.̣.c.a.s.
Whether it be
"the race of the day" or a small prize round the gaffs, we will attempt to use our knowledge of the formbook to highlight the fancied horses participating each day and their characteristics and requirements. Hopefully this 'second opinion' provides you with a winner or two each day, or even reinforces your own view on a particular may even convince you to back some of those horses which we feel are the "ones to fear", or have decent eachway claims. whichever is the case, we hope the information is of use to you.
SELECTIONS - For each race, we have given you who, in our view, are the likeliest winners;
(1er CHOICE), as well as
the next best runners (in our view, this can include any horses who could run well at eachway
odds). Any runner from our features are shown before each race's analysis.

¦ .a.n. .r.̣.c.a.s. ¦:¬>Agnetha, [an excellent third in the Balmoral Handicap at Royal Ascot] The Trader, [4th to Domenica in the King's Stand Stakes (Group 2) ], Bishops Court, [consistent as ever, however
appears to be becoming more difficult to win with as time progresses] Repertory, [last year's winner is still running well, however has been soundly beaten around
Europe this term] and Newpark Lady, [fourth to Jessica's Dream at Cork last time out] appear to have the best claims in the opener. Agnetha ran a great race
off of top weight at Ascot and can gain a deserved success in Listed company.
¦ 1er CHOICE ¦:¬> Agnetha (GER),
¦ 2nd Choice ¦:¬>The Trader
¦ 3rd Choice ¦:¬>Bishops Court.
¦ 2° CURRAGH ¦ ¬> Anheuser Busch Railway Stakes {gr. 3} £100000 added, 2yo only, 6f, penalty £65000, 4 runners.

¦ .a.n. .r.̣.c.a.s. ¦:¬>You can make a case for all the runners in the second on the card. Pakhoes, (such a
gallant second at Royal Ascot behind Statue of Liberty in the Coventry Stakes) appears to have the best form in the book, however Hold That Tiger gets my vote, having won on his debut at
Leopardstown, having come from an impossible position a quarter mile out. Hopefully Newfoundland (our
selection for the Coventry at Royal Ascot0 can run well here before going onto better things
¦ 1er CHOICE ¦:¬> Hold That Tiger (USA)
¦ 2nd Choice ¦:¬>Pakhoes
¦ 3rd Choice ¦:¬> Newfoundland (USA)
¦ 3° CURRAGH ¦ ¬> John Roarty Memorial Scurry H 'cap (Premier H 'cap) £80000 added, 3yo plus, 6f 63yds, penalty £52000, 15 runners.

¦ .a.n. .r.̣.c.a.s. ¦:¬> Final Exam, Marionnaud, Polar Kingdom, D'Anjou, Monkston Point, Tom Tun, and Montpelier Street, have the best chances in the third race. Polar Kingdom, Monkston Point, and Tom Tun have been in good form on this side of the water and can be expected to give good accounts of themselves here, however Marionnaud must go close if she can replicate her 1,000 Guineas Trial (Group 3) winning form here. She was outclassed behind Gossamer in the "real thing" however she has plenty going for her here and gets my vote. Despite carrying topweight, D'Anjou, [ who ran on steadily from two furlongs out when
finishing seventh on his reappearance, and will have come on for the run] should go well and have sound eachway
claims
¦ 1er CHOICE ¦:¬> Marionnaud,
¦ 2nd Choice ¦:¬>Monkston Point
¦ 3rd Choice ¦:¬> D'Anjou, (e/w)
¦ 4° CURRAGH ¦ ¬> Budweiser Guinness H 'cap (Premier H 'cap) £80000 added, 3yo plus, 1m, penalty £52000, 20 runners.

¦ .a.n. .r.̣.c.a.s. ¦:¬> Egyptian, Sandford Park, Desert Trail, Tarry Flynn, Mr Houdini, Transatlantic, Hadath and Grisham, appear to have the best claims in the fourth race on the card. Anyone who saw Egyptian's most recent win here
over course and distance], will still believe this gelding could still be on a fair mark after going up just 5lbs for that
success, especially as he gave the impression that he is still open to further
improvement..... I'll stick with him, having selected him last time out. On this softer ground, Transatlantic, [who finished well behind Ulundi at the Royal Meeting] could bounce back and is the best eachway option.
¦ 1er CHOICE ¦:¬> Egyptian (USA)
¦ 2nd Choice ¦:¬> Transatlantic (USA), (e/w)
¦ 3rd Choice ¦:¬> Sandford Park
¦ 5° CURRAGH ¦ ¬> IRISH DERBY {gr. 1} (Colts) & Fillies) -
Sponsored by Budweiser. £1300000 added, 3yo only, 1m 4f, penalty £749355, 9 runners.

¦ .a.n. .r.̣.c.a.s. ¦:¬> Desperately trying to muster up some
enthusiasm for this race, however if all went to plan it hard to see High Chaparral, failing to land this
prize. You'd think he simply has to reproduce his Vodafone Derby form, [when he thrashed all bar
Hawk Wing, to land this prize... things don't however always go to plan, and this lazy
individual is just the sort of horse that could struggle here, as he did when winning the Derby trial at
Leopardstown by a length from In Time's Eye; who reopposes here. I expect him to
oblige, however i don't expect it to be pretty and it wouldnt surprise me if
Balakheri, [an impressive winner at the Royal meeting], In Time's Eye and Ballingarry [second to the
useful Italian colt Rakti, in their Derby] didn't make him pull out all the stops.
¦ 1er CHOICE ¦:¬> High Chaparral,
¦ 2nd Choice ¦:¬> Balakheri,
¦ 3rd Choice ¦:¬> Ballingarry, (e/w)
¦ 6° CURRAGH ¦ ¬> Arthur Guinness H 'cap £50000 added, 4yo plus, 2m, penalty £32500, 18 runners.

¦ .a.n. .r.̣.c.a.s. ¦:¬> Last year's winner Patriot Games, Billy Bonnie, Clever Consul, Cailin's Perk, Journey Unknown, Indy Carr, Panchita, Samasakhan, Shipton Wood, and Discerning Air, all have claims in
the sixth race. Billy Bonnie - unlucky in running behind Riyadh at Royal Ascot, makes most appeal and is
preferred to Patriot Games, and Cailin's Perk.
¦ 1er CHOICE ¦:¬> Billy Bonnie,
¦ 2nd Choice ¦:¬> Patriot Games,
¦ 3rd Choice ¦:¬> Cailin's Perk.
¦ 7° CURRAGH ¦ ¬> Budweiser Celebration Stakes (Listed) £100000 added, 3yo plus, 1m, penalty £65000, 7 runners.

¦ .a.n. .r.̣.c.a.s. ¦:¬> One Won One, Duck Row, Prize Time and Roar Of The Tiger, appear to have the best claims
in the penultimate trace on the card. Although One Won One is solid in this company, I am interested in Roar Of The Tiger, a full-brother to Giant's Causeway ,
who ran no sort of race in the Tetrarch Stakes (Group 3) on his reappearance. He is better than that, and as that was his
second race, he should improve as the season progresses. The fact that Aiden O'Brien has chosen him to
represent him (from a large original selection) does suggest that he has improved on his debut effort and he is worth chancing here.
¦ 1er CHOICE ¦:¬> Roar Of The Tiger (USA)
¦ 2nd Choice ¦:¬> One Won One (USA)
¦ 3rd Choice ¦:¬> Duck Row (USA)
¦ 8° CURRAGH ¦ ¬> Waterford Crystal World Sports H 'cap £50000 added, 3yo plus, 1m 4f, penalty £32500, 21 runners.

¦ .a.n. .r.̣.c.a.s. ¦:¬> Kew Green, Allude, Gemini Guest, Kramer, All The Colours, Slaney Sand and Russian Comrade are likely to head the market in the finale. Beyond The Pole, [the winner of a Wexford maiden on his
reappearance, improved on that effort to fail by 3lengths to give 19lbs to
Cailin's Perk at Leopardstown on his most recent start. The handicapper has dropped him 5lbs for that effort and he is worth chancing in this open affair.
¦ 1er CHOICE ¦:¬> Beyond The Pole (USA)
¦ 2nd Choice ¦:¬> All The Colours,
¦ 3rd Choice ¦:¬> Kew Green
