Analysis & Selections by

Ò rØøk

Whether it be "the race of the day" or a small prize round the gaffs, we will attempt to use our knowledge of the formbook to highlight the fancied horses participating each day and their characteristics and requirements. Hopefully this 'second opinion' provides you with a winner or two each day, or even reinforces your own view on a particular may even convince you to back some of those horses which we feel are the "ones to fear", or have decent eachway claims. whichever is the case, we hope the information is of use to you.

"ONE TO JUMP '04" - A selections of horses we believe are worth following during the national hunt season.

EUROPEAN TRAINED HURDLERS

"bumpers"
MA´AM [FR]
b, f.. Garde Royalé - French Kiss IV [FR]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- François Doumen In France
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Ma´am is an unraced three-year-old by Garde Royalé by French Kiss IV, [a daughter of Art Français]. She has a real national hunt pedigree and it´ll be no surprise if she doesn´t do well in time, hopefully she´ll show some promise in the meantime

MY WILL [FR]
br, g. Saint Preuil [FR] - Gleep Will [FR]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Guillaume Macaire In France
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- My Will is a three-year-old gelding by Saint Preuil, out of a Cadoudal mare, who has been pleasing connections at home. Any promise he shows before Christmas will probably be a bonus as he definitely looks like the type, who be seen to better effect next spring/summer.

PAK JACK [FR]
b, g. Pitchounent - Miss Noir et Noir [FR]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- C. Aubert In France
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Pak Jack is an unraced three-year-old by Pitchounent out of Miss Noir et Or; [a daughter of Noir et Or], who was a prolific winner of cross-country steeplechases. This makes him a half-brother to Sleeping Jack who won the Prix Caldurum Steeple-CH´ in May. I´ll be hoping that he shows some promise before the end of the season, and it will not be a surprise if he were to emulate his illustrious relation at some stage in his career...lets hope its this season.

PIERROT LA LUNE [FR]
gr, g. Perrault - Le Voix De La Lune [FR]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Guillaume Macaire In France
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Pierrot La Lune is a three-year-old gelding by Perrault, out of a Less Ice mare, who at the time of writing has yet to race under any code of racing. He is almost certainly unlikely to be rushed this term so any promise on the provincial circuit will give rise to some hope for the future.

RIVER DANCE [URU]
b, g. Marly River [FR] - Piurana [ARG]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Jean-Paul-John Dubois in France.
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- River Dance is a three-year-old by Marly River, [a prolific winner in France in the late 80´s/early 90´s], out of an Argentinean-bred mare. He is an interesting blend of National Hunt pedigree and South-American speed... it´ll be interesting to see how he fares this winter.

SIRE PASQUINI [FR]
gr, g. Saint Preuil [FR] - Lady Thatch [FR]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Guillaume Macaire In France
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Sire Pasquini is a three-year-old by Saint Preuil, by a Mast Thatch mare, who hasn´t at the time of writing graced a racecourse. He has a steeplechaser's pedigree and will no doubt brought along slowly with that career in mind.

Juvenile Hurdlers [3-Year-Olds]
A TOI A MOI [FR]
ch, g. Cyborg [FR] - Peperolle [FR]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Thierry Civel in France
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- A Toi A Moi is an raced three-year-old by Cyborg out of Peperolle, a daughter of Dom Pasquini, who ran over obstacles in the provinces. He has a real national hunt pedigree and I´ll be hoping that he shows some promise before the end of the season.

BIBA CLASSY [GER]
b, g. Secret´N Classy [CAN] - Bibiche [U.S.A.]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Josef Váña in the Czech Republic
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»--Biba Classy is a three-year-old by Secret´N Classy who gets into this list after running a creditable third on his only start in the Cena Autoplusu II S III at Most in July. Josef Váña will bring this one along slowly and hopefully can get his head in front before the end of our season.

CYRIEN DEUX MILLE [FR]
b, g. Saint Cyrien [FR] - Top Chiz [FR]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Guillaume Macaire In France
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»--Cyrien Deux Mille is a three-year-old by Saint Cyrien went onto this list after winning on his debut at Senonnes at the end of April. when he won by 11lengths. I´d like to think that Guillaume Macaire will be bale to place him to win over obstacles this winter

DALMAN [POL]
br, g Don Corleoné - Damisela [POL]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Stephan Bigus in Austria
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Dalman is a three-year-old gelding by Don Corleoné, who hails from the same yard at Negro, who has done so well over hurdles in Italy. He has ability, as indicated by a fair seventh in the IX. Slovenské derby at Bratislava at the end of July. If he takes to hurdling he should find winning opportunities in Italy.

ECOLOMANIAC [FR]
gr, g. Turgeon [U.S.A.] - Grammelis [FR]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Bernard Sécly in France
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Ecolomaniac is a three-year-old by Turgeon out of a Persépolis mare. He was only sixth on his debut at Les Sables, however by all accounts this horse possesses plenty of scope and should improve with his racing... I´d be hopeful he could find a race this winter

GEKKON [RUS]
b, g. Observation Post - Gromada [SU]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- [Šavujev Arslangirij]
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Gekkon is a speculative choice, however I wouldn´t be surprised if someone tries to purchase him for a campaign over obstacles. This three-year-old son of Observation Post has been highly tried thus far, arguably running his best race when finishing second to Czermony Mak in the Cena STACH & I.P., a.s. at Most in June, before finishing down the field in the IX. Slovenské derby at Bratislava at the end of July. His pedigree suggests that stamina will be his forte so I won´t be surprised if he doesn´t at some stage go jumping.. though more likely at present on the continent.

GLAFKÒS [GR]
b, g. Deploy - Rentina
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Jehan Bertran De Balanda In France
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Glafkòs is a three-year-old gelding by Deploy out of an Adonijah mare. I don´t recollect many Greek-bred horses racing over hurdles, so who knows Glafkòs could start a new trend. He ran nine times on the level without success, however he was placed twice at the premier track, although these were in claiming company. He must have been showing something at home because he entries over hurdles appear to be at the better tracks, so I am hopeful that he may well get his head in front before the end of the season. Jehan Betran de Balanda is not adverse at sending a horse to the UK if he believes it can find better opportunities so it isn´t completely impossible that Glafkòs might appear over here at some stage in the new year.

MILL SABORDS [FR]
br, g. Garde Royalé [FR] _ Sauteuse De Retz [FR]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Guillaume Macaire In France
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Mill Sabords is an unraced three-year-old gelding by Garde Royalé out of a Funny Hobby mare who is related to a couple of winners over obstacles... Probably won´t have the same profile of some of stablemates in this list, however he is well thought of apparently and is definitely is worth putting up in this list.

SEPT ET NEUF [FR]
b, g. Espirit Du Nord [U.S.A.] _ Peau d´Or [FR]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Guillaume Macaire In France
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Sept Et Neuf is a three-year-old gelding by Espirit du Nord out of Peau d´Or , which makes him a half-brother to stablemate Tempo d´Or. If he has any of the ability shown by his illustrious half-brother he´s worth adding to this list for that reason alone.

SŽUMÍACY LAS [POL]
br, g. Dameto - Sžuaña [POL]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»--[Dorota Kaluba in Poland]
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»--Sžumíacy Las is a three-year-old by Dameto, out of Sžuaña, a mare by Dixieland, which makes him a half-brother to winning chaser Sžerýf and Sžerokí Bór, who was recently bought by Mark Pitman. Trained by Dorata Kaluba in Poland, He won one of his ten starts in Poland, and seemed to appreciate a distance of ground. He was one of the horses I´d short-listed as a possible purchase at the recent Polturf Horses-in-training sale at Sluzewiec racecourse, and was surprised that he wasn´t picked up by a British trainer, he instead will continue his career in the Czech Republic. He is a nice individual, who should do well over obstacles in due course.

4-Year-Olds+ Hurdlers
BLADOUDAL [FR]
bl, g. Cadoudal [FR] - Blabli [FR]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Robert Collet In France
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Bladoudal is a four-year-old by Cadoudal had a quiet introduction to racing however showed promise on two occasions; on his debut at Auteuil in October ´02 and on his most recent start where he was second to Gaelle Palm at Lyon-Villerurbeure in March. That was a solid introduction and I´d be hopeful he may make it into the winners enclosure before the end of the season.

BONUS FOR POLONIA
ch, g. Barathea - Bonica
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Orlando Pacifici in Italy
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Bonus For Polonia is a five-year-old chestnut gelding by Barathea, who has useful form in Poland before being purchased by present connection to race over hurdles. He was highly tried on his debut against some of Italy's best hurdlers, however he made no show, however he improved on that effort and despite pulling like a train early on, he delivered a devastating burst of speed up the straight to win his third start at Pisa going away by 6lengths. He was headstrong next time out and as a result probably did very well to get within a length of the winner Baladin in a conditions event at Milano at the end of April. If he learns to settle he might be quite useful.

CABALLO RAPTOR [CAN]
br, h. Quest For Fame [U.S.A.] - Viator [U.S.A.]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Thierry Doumen In France
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Caballo Raptor is clearly a fragile individual, however he is a very talented one. He was the champion four-year-old hurdler in ´00. and though he failed to trouble the judge in ´01, he can creditably in all the Champion races behind Baracouda, and Le Sauvignon. He was having his first race for 18months, when landing the Prix Jean Sens Hurdle for his new trainer Thierry Doumen by a neck from Astonville. He didn´t run again since, however if connections persevere with him he could still make an impact in a relatively weak division.

COME AND WIN [GER]
ch, h. Monsun - Casella [GER]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Mario Hofer In Germany
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Come And Win is a lovely strapping five-year-old gelding by Monsun, who won three of his eighteen starts on the level before embarking on a hurdles career, which he took to with gusto, winning one of the three starts, only just failing to land the Gran Corsa Siepi Di Milano [Gruppo I] on his final start. There should be more improvement to come and I´d expect him to land further prizes this winter... could even be worth an excursion to France... [and definitely has the scope to jump British fences]

DUCE [POL]
ch, g. Enjoy Plan - Dunavá [POL]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Olehla Cestmír in the Czech Republic
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Duce is a four-year-old by Enjoy Plan, who ran four times last term in the Czech Republic without success , however hinted, when finishing second to Glorietta in the 83.Cena prezidenta republiky dotovaná Mattoni at Pardubice in November ´02 that there probably more to come ... should make the winner's enclosure this winter and may be good enough to race outside of the Czech Republic.

ENNEMÏ D´ÉTAT [FR]
br, g. Passing Sale [FR] - Best Of The Best [FR]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»--M. Rolland in France
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»--Ennemï d´État is a four-year-old by Passing Sale out of a Cadoudal mare, who ran seven times on the flat without success, the best being a sixth at Deauville in August. He has a lot of jumping influences in his pedigree and it may be that it is in this discipline that we´ll see th best of him.

EXCETERA [FR]
b, g. Sadler´s Wells [U.S.A.] - Irika [U.S.A.]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Bernard Sécly In France
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Excetera is a four-year-old by Sadler´s Wells by an Irish River mare, who showed some ability on the level at two, however injury curtailed his progression and Benard Sécly nursed him back to health to run over hurdles last term. After falling as his debut won on his third start at Enghien-Soisy at the beginning of April. He had one more start in the €. 50,000. Prix Durtain, again at Enghien-Soisy at the end of the month, and he didn´t disgrace himself in finishing fifth to Sphinx Du Berlais, [btn 9lengths]. That was a good first season and hopefully there is more to come this season.

FEATHERGOD [FR]
b, g. Nashwan [U.S.A.] - Featherhill
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Thierry Doumen in France.
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Feathergod is a four-year-old gelding by Nashwan, out of a Lyphard mare, who was brought to go jumping by present connections, after winning twice this season; over 2100meters at Longchamp in May, as well at over 2400 metres at Vittel in August. Thierry Doumen now will trained him and I´m certain he´ll be well schooled. It´ll be interesting to see how he gets on this winter.

FILS Á PAPA [FR]
b, g. Double Bed [FR] - Syvanie [FR]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- François Doumen In France
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- I placed Fils A Papa in last year´s list and I´ll do so again , even though this son of Double Bed only ran once over obstacles last term... However it was an encouraging effort, where he finished second to Lodmyka at Enghien-Soisy at the end of November, [btn 1length]. He´s run encouragingly on the flat this summer and with a full campaign behind him could get his head in front this winter [He was entered up in the UK a few times and may make an appearance at some stage.]

FOREMAN [GER]
ch, g. Monsun [GER] - Fleurie [GER]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Thierry Doumen In France
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- It´ll be interesting to see what connection do with Foreman this term. He´s done really well since Christian Von Der Recke´s care after wining a little race at Bremen and Folkestone to develop into a decent hurdler in France for Thierry Doumen in his first season as a trainer. [Not far behind Karly Flight who carried all before her for most of last term], and didn´t disgrace himself when tried against our best novices in the Sun Alliance Hurdle, only finishing 5 ¼lengths behind Hardy Eustace. He must have several options open to him in France and in the UK and it will very interesting to se what path he takes once he reappears

FRAGONARD [GER]
br, g. Dashing Blade - Foudre [GER]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Peter Schiergen in Germany
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Fragonard is a four-year-old gelding by Dashing Blade, who won two of his thirteen starts on the level in Germany, whose showed plenty of promise on his debut at Munich in April, where he beat Czech raider Týcjan by 2lengths. He appears to be open to plenty of improvement and could do well in Italy if given the opportunity this autumn

GALION [RUS]
b, g. Observation Post - Gastra [RUS]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Jacques Ortet In France.
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Galion is a four-year-old by Observation Post out of a Sayan mare. He is one of the first Russian bred geldings I´ve encountered and although he hasn´t set the work on fire in six starts, has not been out of the frame and has finished second on two occasions, the most recent occasion was last time out when finishing 3lengths behind Ballard Nordique in a Steeplechase at Gemozac in June. No world beater, however does appear to have the ability to win a little race with the right placement.

GUACAPO [FR]
b, g. Vertical Speed [FR] - Kirkla [FR]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Arnaud Chaillé-Chaillé In France
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Guacapo is a four-year-old gelding by Vertical Speed out of a Bikla mare, who has only had one run, however it was a winning one as he landed the Prix Varaville Haies at Auteuil at the end of February. He hasn´t appear since however connections hold him in the highest regard and they certainly believe he will find further success this term... we shall see.

KRAK DU COCHET [FR]
b, g. Luynes [U.S.A.] - Carentoire [FR]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Guillaume Macaire In France
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Krak Du Cochet is a five-year-old son of Luynes, out of an Air Du Nord mare, who returns to the track, after missing most of last term through injury. He boasts some form too, having own his debut on the flat at Royan in May ´02, before landing a hurdle at Les Sables at the end of June ´02. The rest may well have given him time to mature further and may prove to be a blessing and he may make up for lost time this term, problem over the larger obstacles.

LAST DANCE [GER]
ch, g. Monsun - Lilian [FR]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Thierry Doumen In France
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Last Dance is a lightly raced four-year-old by Monsun out of an Acatenango mare, who won one of his five races in Germany at Krefeld over 2500metres in October ´02. François Doumen will no doubt place him to good effect and it wouldn´t surprise me if he were to win before the end of the term, [he may also run in this country this term if he shows enough promise].

LEADER DU COCHET [FR]
b, g. Byzantium [FR] - Voiture Du Cochet [FR]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Guillaume Macaire In France
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»--- Leader Du Cochet is a four-year-old gelding by Byzantium, [a stallion I know very little about] out of a mare by Air Du Nord. He has only had the one start however it was a winning one over hurdles at Niort at the end of May, where he put 5lengths between himself and his rivals... Don´t know the value of this form however as improvement is almost guaranteed, I certainly want to keep on the good side of him at present.

MAGNUS [FR]
b, g. Roakarad - Volcania [FR]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Jacques Ortet In France
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- I was annoyed by the press this horse got last term, though I do understand why. Magnus was one of France´s top hurdlers before joining Martin Pipe winning seven races; progressing through the ranks to land Prix Carmarthen Haies [Gr. 3] at Auteuil by 5lnegths from Goudenko in October, before going on to take the Grand Prix d´Automne Haies [Gr. 1] at the beginning of December. Martin Pipe took him home after he had confirmed Grand Prix d´Automne form when landing the Prix Leon Olry-Roederer Haies [Gr. 2] by 2 ½ lengths From Fou Du Roy V and much was expected of him, however he never showed any semblance of the form shown in France, and we know that he bled on one or more occasions. Wisely Both Martin Pipe and David Johnson felt a return to France might rekindle his previous glories and if he stand training, he could be very interesting this season. At least I am aware of the risks I may be taking if I back him

NEGRO [POL]
br, g. Don Corleoné - Nemezia [POL]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Stefan Bigus In Austria
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Negro tested my faith for much of last term failing to build on the promise shown as a juvenile... in fact it wasn´t until right at the end of our season when blinkers were fitted when he came a good third in a conditions event at Milan, that we saw a glimpse of the promise shown twelve months ago. If they work the oracle we could this five-year-old return to winning ways.

PHILIPPÊ [GER]
ch, g. Surumu [GER] - Pasadena [GER]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Andreas Löwe In Germany
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»--Philippê is a four-year-old gelding by Surumu, who ran creditably over hurdles in Germany , France and Italy. however it was on his final start when he landed the CORSA DI SIEPI DEI 4 ANNI [Gruppo II] at Milano in April that he finally suggested that he could possibly take high rank over hurdles. If he is campaigned at home or in Italy he should find further success

PLINSKÝ [ITY]
b, g. Kings Theatre - Ring of Fire [U.S.A.]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Gianmaria Travagli In Italy
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Plinský makes a welcome return to the racecourse having missed last term through injury. He was pretty average on the flat, however was a revelation when put over obstacles winning all three of his races at San Siro, culminating with an all-the-way win in the € 96.580,00 Corsa Siepi Dei 4 Anni, with decent juveniles Windlight, Del Mar Dancer and Negro well behind him. If he has made a full recovery, Plinský could make a big impact on the Italian scene.

SWEET SHAREEF [GER]
b, g. Shareef Dancer [U.S.A.] - Sweet Royalé [GER]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Thierry Doumen in France.
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Sweet Shareef is a four-year-old gelding by Shareef Dancer, who embarks on a hurdles career after winning two of his eleven starts in Germany and Italy, the most recent of which was a handicap at Munich last September. He could be anything and it´ll be interesting to see how he progresses this winter.

THE MIRAGE [FR]
gr, g. Kendor [FR] - Princesse Dom [FR]
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- Mme L Audon In France
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»-- The Mirage is a lovely virtually white gelding by Kendor, out of a Dom Pasquini mare. He ran four times last term during our season and progressed with each start culminating with a win in the Euros. 80,000. Prix De Rougemont Haies [H´cap.] at Auteuil at the beginning of April. He may be difficult to place this winter, however a return to this level of form would be good enough to win this term... [possibly worth trying over fences or even a sortie to the UK]

WATER QUIRL [GER]
ch, h. Dr Devious - Water Quest
¦¨¨the¨trainer¨¨¦¨¨¨»--Christian Von Der Recke in Germany
¦¨¨COMMENTS¨¨¦¨¨¨»--Water Quirl is a four-year-old by Dr Devious, out of Water Quest, [a daughter of Rainbow Quest]. He ran thirteen time son the flat for Andreas Schütz, winning three times as well as being placed on five pother occasions, and was campaigned up to Group level, [he was eighth to Olaso in the Betty Barclay-Rennen [Group 3] at Baden-Baden over 3200m on his most recent start in May. His transfer to Christian Von Der Recke, seems to indicate that connections are contemplating trying him over obstacles and he definitely possesses the ability to win at home .... and possibly abroad with sound placement.

EPSOM
Saturday June 7.
KRIS KIN: Not certain to stay today's trip however there was plenty to like about the way he quickened to land the Dee Stakes at Chester on his seasonal reappearance. Sir Michael Stoute knows what it takes to win this race and the fact that they have stumped up £90,000 to supplement him has to be considered a positive.

SUMMARY
Ireland would appear to have a very strong hand here and it will not surprise me if both Alamshar and Refuse To Bend made the frame (wouldn't be at all surprised if Alamshar obliged). However as it's the Derby let's see if we can try and find something at a bigger prize particularly those who want to have an each-way bet. Whilst it's easy to see why the likes of Norse Dancer and Magistrettì might appeal, Kris Kin catches the eye, particularly after that good effort at Chester. There was a lot to like about that performance and at odds of around 10/1, should give each-way supporters a good run for their money.
That one was for you dad!!!

2:00 William Hill H´cap. Hurdle
A very competitive handicap hurdle with several of these having strong claims. Farmer Jack, Teaatral, Lord Brex, Aspirant Dancer, Creon, Mr. Markham, and Ideal du Bois Beury all have serious claims. Father Jack (who was probably ridden too positively last time out) is sure to go well and probably would have been my selection if Ideal du Bois Beury hadn't been in opposition. I thought he won with a bit in hand under top weight at Leicester last time out and looks very appealing off of the minimum weight.
IDEAL DU BOIS BEURY won - 10/1
