19th - 22nd May 2006
Mill Hill Cottage, Little Steeping, Lincolnshire

What more could we ask for other than slightly better weather and slighter higher beams - ouch! In the mid-17th century when this little cottage was built, people were a lot smaller so Caroline and I left after the three day break with bruised and sore heads! This aside, we all had a lovely time. It was Eurovision weekend and it was really nice to celebrate in low key style with flags, score sheets and lots of craziness from the acts and the biased voting!

Below are a few snapshots taken over the weekend that sort of sum it all up: the nature, art, laughter, food, fashions and fun!

1. Mill Hill Cottage with Jo, Jason and Caroline on the step.

2. Little Steeping in the rain.

3. This was on our lawn. The heritage sign I mean, not Jason.

4. Stair madness. The twin room was just about accessible via this tiny, twisty staircase.

5. Rustic charm in evidence #1. The ceiling.

6. Rustic charm in evidence #2. Jason pumping!

7. I did my first oil painting, it didn't end up looking like this though.

8. The oil painting in the bread oven! Sadly the painting didn't survive the journey home too well.

9. Caroline's creative patchworking.

10. Caroline and I, hats galore!

11. Jason and Lady Jo. Wet and windswept. Which is which?!

12. I was overcome by the ghost of Eurovision past. Antique bedwarmer as banjo!

13. This is as patriotic as I get. It did no good, the UK failed miserably in the contest once again.

14. Lady Jo and Mr Lamb.

15. Lady Jo and my good self. Notice the 'lady's finger' microphone in front of us.

16. Mmmm... yummy cakes as supplied by Sally at Chocolat.

17. Mooo... It was the country, there were a lot of these around.

18. Foamy Face.
