Nicolle Tower - St Clement, Jersey

Another trip away in a bizarre llttle home. This time we flew off to Jersey which is closer to France than I realised. Despite having French road signs and names it was surprisingly English. For a while about 60 years ago it was very nearly German and quite understandably, Jersey hasn't quite got over being occupied during World War 2.

We spent a whole day exploring the genuinely moving museum that is now where the German tunnels and hospitals once were. Jersey was completely taken over and there are many signs still evident today. This includes our dwelling which was adapted and used as a nazi lookout point (see compass picture below). Just outside the house were bunkers too!
