I did a nostalgia trip to my home town of Edenbridge in the county of Kent to see the famous bonfire night celebrations on Saturday 3 November. Celebrating the execution of Guy Fawkes, a traditional English custom. It seemed a good time to remind ourselves of the fate of traitors.
But first a nostalgic wander through Edenbridge at twilight. It has changed much over the ten years since I took a proper look round, and dramatically since childhood. Half of the fields on which I used to play have been built on, and not well neither. My old infants school has been converted into flats.
