This is my new-look genealogy chart. I've kept the old single page site for the time being, but it was getting too long and confusing, so this version has individual pages on every ancestor discovered so far.
I am about to start up again on my research with a trip at the end of August to the record offices in Essex, Suffolk and Cambridge in search of parish registers and stuff. I'm going to give priority to updating my family tree on my site at genesconnected, as this is easier for me to access while on the move, and does a better job of constructing family trees than I can do on these pages.
My family came from the East End of London, and many of them had been there since at least the early 19th century. However, the Stutts and the Frosts orginally came from Essex, the Andrews from Suffolk, and it's possible that my branch of the Miltons originally came from Somerset. Other surnames originate in Devon, Wilshire and Cambridgeshire.
New: I've just done a page on my family in the 1901 census
Useful genealogical links
International
Genealogy.com- a commercial site which includes a number of surname message boards (including boards for most of my surnames) which I have been using to make postings, including:
The Milton Family Genealogy Forum
UK
Free BMD A free site which enables you to search the indexes of the UK's registry of birth, deaths and marriages in the 19th century over the Internet Not complete, but useful when you do find an ancestor there: can save lots of manual searching at the Family Records Service in London. If you've got some spare time, why not help them out with inputting records onto their database.
East of London Family History Society I've just joined this (membership number 9741).
I'll be keeping these pages updated from time to time and would dearly love to hear from anybody with genealogical information to swap.
