56. Henry Striker

Father of Edward Francis Striker. Married Sarah Hall.

I searched the years 1856-1864 at the FRS for Henry and Sarah's marriage certificate, unsuccessfully.

Henry's son, Edward Francis Striker, was born at 2 Mill Terrace, Bromley in the registration district of Poplar in the sub-district of Bow in the County of Middlesex on 8 March 1864. Henry Striker was described as, a General Labourer.

At the time of the 1881 census, the family was living at 139 Kerbey Street, Bromley Common, Middlesex:

Name Marr Age Sex Birthplace
Henry Striker M 56 M Poplar, Middlesex
Sarah M Striker M 51 F Limehouse, Middlesex
Louisa M Striker U 19 F Poplar, Middlesex
Edward F Striker   17 M Poplar, Middlesex
William G Striker   14 M Poplar, Middlesex
Esther E Striker   12 F Poplar, Middlesex
Charles J Striker   10 M Poplar, Middlesex
Alice E Striker   5 F Poplar, Middlesex

Various other people were also living at this address, presumably lodgers.

Henry Striker was a Labourer when, according to the marriage certificate, Edward Francis Striker married Annie Langley at the Parish Church in Poplar on 4 April 1885. He was a 21 year old Commercial Clerk, and she was 20. Their address was 38Lefevre Road (now gone - was rebuilt as Lefevre Walk).
