72. William Frost
Father of James Frost.
Described as a farmer at the time of his son's marriage to Catherine Williams on 6 August 1838 at the church of St James Westminster
I got from the English Origins website has a copy of the probate of the will of a William Frost, Farmer, of Stamford Rivers, Essex, ref 2 A1 1814 reg 337. It says he died possessed of £2,600. His will names William Frost, the testator's son, Matilda Frost, the testator's daughter, and John Potter as its executors and administrators. It gives his wife the income for life from £2.500 Navy at 5 per cent held in trust and directs the administrators to sell the £2,500 investment when she dies. It puts the remaining £100 at the diposal of William Frost and Matilda Frostf.
It is not clear at this stage whether the William Frost who benefitted under this will is the same William Frost who is my ancestor.
