I currently live in a two bedroom flat in Hither Green. It's nice enough with a garden, dining room, neutral in terms of decoration. That is until the purple bean bag sofa arrives.
Facilities include TV, DVD, iMac and Internet, and kitchen gadgets and herbs.
The kitchen is small but perfectly formed, with washer, tumble dryer, gas oven, microwave, bread machine and a food processor so advanced I'm scared to use it. And lots of cookery books.
I'm on the verge of throwing away the futon and one of the armchairs in the living room.
The flat is convenient for transport. It's 5 mins from Hither Green rail station with regular trains into London Bridge, Waterloo East, Charing Cross and Cannon Street. It's right on the 181 bus route into Lewisham, where you can get the DLR into Greenwich and Docklands. And it's on the N171 Night Bus route from Central London (Tottenham Court Road and Aldwych).
I
have good intentions about the front and back gardens. I'm concentrating on
the front at the moment where I've planted a few things, trimmed the hedge within
an inch of its life, and dug over the 'lawn' and planted shrubs, herbs etc.
I spend the occasional Sunday morning weeding, to no obvious effect. However,
the rose bushes in the front are lovely and yellowy, and some matching lilies
are springing up. The back garden is still rather unkempt but the tree produced
cherries, which is a bit of a surprise because I thought it was a pear tree.
So no partridges for me this Christmas :-(
