ICE

This was done a while ago. But a decent headunit was fitted using the brackets from the original Japanese spec. radio/cassette.

Halfords ordered me an adaptor cable to connect to an ISO headunit.

Even than needed a modification - but I forget what.

Original speaker on the right. Complete rotten.

I took it into Halfords, they told me these Alpines would fit the front doors.

They didn't - idiots - not close because they are 6.5" not 6"

Lots of time with the die-grinder got them fitted, I'd not recommend them though, as they are hard to fit.

I fitted a pair of 5.25" speaker from Boss Audio into the D-pillars. They were nice quality with separate tweeters and cross-over.

A little bit of trimming was required, but I was expecting this is time around.

Sound good in the back, but don't really project into the front.

Harman Kardon have developed a neat iPod intergration solution. The Drive+Play. It costs about £30 from eBay.

Gives a much better install than the typical wireless transmitter/cradle. But is much harder work to install, as its all wired.

Here is the control wheel, along with the display, it echoes the interface of the iPod quite closely.
