Progress after 96 weeks

Sunday 21st May 2006 was a good day. It was the day I got the engine started.

After wiring up all the hotwire ECU etc. It started first time - happy.

Here is a 643kb MP3 of the start-up Honda FireBlade silencers 2" stainless piping with a balance pipe onto 101 manifolds.

Pretty much everything in place under the bonnet. The PA horn (to protect my delicate voice) still needs bolting on, lights and master-cylinder are pretty notable exceptions however.

  • Twin Vauxhall EFI fuel pumps near to the servo.
  • 16 gallon fuel cell
  • Dive tank for compressed air
  • Bugger all space for anything bar a towrope :-/

All the gauges in the roof and a whole bunch of warning lights.

Loads of VDO vision bling - all with red backlighting to match the compass :-)

4 screws and two multi-plugs and I can remove it for security/maintenance

A whole bunch of wiring. I'll box this all in eventually.

Zero-bling engine bay, but it runs and that can come later

All the hotwire and ignition stuff on the rear bulkhead. I'll worry about water-proofing at a later date.

Making a transmission tunnel to hold two handbrakes (for fiddle brakes) A switch panel, and the auto-shifter will be a chunk of time.

A little bit of wiring to tidy up................

Next.....

  • Finish the wiring
  • Build a centre console
  • Finish the props
  • Finish the brakes
  • Drive it
