Sunday 19 July 2008, at Cody Sports Centre, Old Ively Road, Farnborough, Hampshire - Lost by 78 runs (Ref. 200917)
A serious foot injury to Andy Clark marred Wealdstone Corinthians' first ever match in Hampshire. He pursued a ball to the third man boundary, tumbled down the steep bank situated immediately beyond the line and fell onto the roadway below with a sinister thud. As he was unable to take any further part in the match, Corinthians had to conceded defeat at 8.05pm with 31 balls remaining when the 9th wicket partnership between top scorer Steve Stratford and skipper Steve Brown was finally broken after 9 overs of resistance. This gave Del Smith his fifth wicket when he dived to his right to hold a return catch. Earlier the visitors had begun both innings well, keeping Pyestock's scoring in check until Pete Heath blasted a rapid unbeaten 73 towards the end, then adding 33 for the first wicket only to collapse to his son Chris Heath, who took four wickets, and the tireless Smith, who bowled 15 pacy overs.
