Saturday 10 October 2009, at the MCG, Magalluf, Mallorca - Lost by 7 wickets         (Ref. 200932)

Debut: Liam Casey

Underperformance with the bat by Wealdstone Corinthians cost them any realistic hope of setting the Mallorca 1st XI a challenging run chase after the tourists chose to bat first on another warm October day. Six of the top eight made a start but failed to capitalise by building a score likely to hurt the home side, and the biggest contributor was Extras with 32. The best 9th wicket partnership of the season added respectability to a disappointing innings, with football fan Nick Cundy the dominant partner, but as Mallorca knocked off the runs so quickly it didn't jeopardise his chances of seeing the start of the England match at 6.15pm. Andy Naylor was nominated Man of the Match for topscoring with 27 and his tidy wicketkeeping, though Raj Meswani could not have been far behind after his part in another solid opening partnership and for taking the only three wickets to fall. Young Dan Clemence was by far the most successful of the many Mallorcan bowlers, whilst Wes Walker's whirlwind 47 won his team the match before the halfway point.

Corinthians 157-8 (40 overs), A Naylor 27 (55 balls), N Cundy 24* (25 balls), Raj Meswani 20 (21 balls), D Clemence 3-14
