Back in January of 2005, the Troop released their own Geocaching Travel Bug upon an unsuspecting world whilst out on a hike. What’s a Geocache and what’s a Travel Bug?
In simple terms, a geocache (or cache) is a container hidden in any one of thousands of places all over the world. We Geocachers (people who go hunting for these containers) like to keep the locations a secret from non-geocachers (Geo-muggles). Finding these containers is a bit like a treasure hunt using map, compass and GPS (Global Positioning System). A Travel Bug is a unique object which is placed in a cache. Other Geocachers visiting that cache are encouraged to remove it to be taken on a journey to another cache at a different location. Rather than fill this page with a full explanation of the sport, try visiting Geocaching.com.
