Situated at the mouth of the Afon Glaslyn, the bustling harbour town of Porthmadog provides an ideal holiday base. With a yachting harbour, a brand new leisure centre with a swimming pool, and a park with outdoor games facilities, Porthmadog has plenty to offer the holidaymaker.

Borth y Gest
The Snowdonia National Park is within easy reach, as are the many beautiful beaches of the Lleyn Peninsula. Borth y Gest (illustrated) is within a short walking distance of Porthmadog harbour, and the beaches of Morfa Bychan and Black Rock Sands are but a few minutes drive away.

For those not-so-sunny days, the town also offers the Harbour Museum, galleries displaying the work of talented local artists, a pottery, a cinema and a wide variety of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. And, of course, trips on the Welsh Highland Railway and the Ffestiniog Railway (illustrated) are a "must" for all the family.
