[Ed-William Doubleday Crofts lies in a tomb situated in the NW corner of
the Churchyard. Also lies there George Dickisson, reputed to be Crofts'
son-in-law.
According to the Nottingham Journal Crofts died on Fri 1st Dec, aged around 70. However his grave states that he died on 29th November. The peal book lists this performance as being Tue 2nd Dec and the Church records at the Nottinghamshire Archives show he was buried on the 5th which is a Tuesday. The Nottingham Journal states Tuesday 5th.
The Nottingham Journal of 9th Dec notes that this ringing, and ringing
at Nottingham St Peters was muffled]
