Chemical Alice Live 2002

Well it finally happened!

January 24th 2002 saw the first live performance by Chemical Alice since January 1985 some 16 years ago and 21 years since the band's first gig in January 1981. The event, at the Standard music venue in Walthamstow, East London was triggered by Jack Grigor's imminent emigration to the USA and featured three members from the final and longest lived incarnation of the band plus special guest Andy House on keyboards. Other than Andy the band featured the aforesaid Jack Grigor on bass, Ron Bennett on drums and David Weston on guitar and vocals. It was truly wonderful to see so many friends again and to feel the music take flight in time honoured fashion. Special thanks to Andy for his superb performance on the keyboards without whom... The set lasted one hour and featured the following pieces of music:

Intro jam
The Rising Light (1983)
Da Cosmic Blues (2001)
Jacks groove / Plainsong (2002) / Gnome riff (1980)
Taking Control (1981)
The Little Peace at the end (1984)

David, Ron and Andy went on to form the Urban Spacemen following this gig wherein a substantial proportion of the latter day Alice vibe and sound may be found.
