Introducing our newest arrival - Alfie Crybbe!

Alfie Crybbe is an Affenpinscher. His kennel name is Ingerdorm Crybbe and he was bred by Margaret Boulcott in Renfrew.

I first met Alfie when he was six weeks old, along with his 4 siblings, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. He was a real character then and that has certainly not changed! (See photo right)

At that time he seemed to be a normal drop eared affenpinscher, but as he grew, first one ear raised, then it dropped and the other raised. By the time he was 6 months old both were pricked. People told us that it might be teething and they might yet drop, but now he is two, I think that we can be assured that they are up to stay.

Alfie Crybbe came to our busy household when he was 8 weeks old, and made it clear from day one that he was the most important person in it. No one else deserved as much attention as he did.

We were a little worried about introducing another dog into the household, but Kaska, our miniature schnauzer dog who was then just 7, took to him immediately. The two girls, Maisie and Zeta, who were at that time 11 and 12, just ignored him, and grumbled when he danced too close. The two boys became great friends, and Kaska showed tolerance well beyond the call of duty, as he was jumped on, had his beard pulled and otherwise attacked by the 1.1kilo bundle of fun, that was Alfie Crybbe.

Alfie Crybbe developed a disconcerting habit of sticking his head between Kaska's open jaws, which terrified us to start with, but they obviously knew what they were doing - not that they were allowed to play unsupervised.
