Welcome to our new updated web site!
The site is produced by Judith & Leigh, and
we live in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England.
Since we began this site in 1997 the household
has expanded and we now have 3 Miniature Schnauzers, our newest arrival
Alfie Crybbe the Affenpinscher (13 weeks and growing), 3
cats, 5 guinea pigs and 2 goldfish. The site now has 4 main themes;
natural healing & plant remedies, animals, our pot pourri of
women's history, myths and legends, archeology and gardening - and two
new pages - Family
History (Leigh has recently started to research her family tree and the
various professions of her ancestors) and the Northern Schnauzer Club
Shop - the home of all things Schnauzer.
We have had lots of visitors to the site over
the past 10 years and made new friends and always welcome feedback. In
this latest upgrade we have rewritten the pets pages and added new links
to enable more research on particular topics.
We
chose the Lavender plant to represent our site as it still has many
special meanings for us. We have eleven different varieties of this
plant growing in our garden, with flowers from white, through pink to
deep purple and a beautiful scent which attracts bees - and us - to
sample its aroma! Lavender has been used for centuries to lift the
spirit and cleanse the body. In the past it was regarded as a herb
to protect against the evil eye and was dedicated to Hecate, Queen of
the Witches - a moon goddess and protector of women. For more
information about Lavender visit our Healing Garden link.

| Our site houses
many pages which reflect the spirit of Lavender - pages
concerned with healing such as Flower Power and Reiki, pages
about women and ancient history and those devoted to the natural
world of wild animals and those who share our life. Surf through
the site or pick the pages you are drawn to - here are some
details of what you can find: |
