A brand new music school for mid-Sussex
offering group lessons in keyboard and guitar for children and
adults. If you want to learn classical music, practise scales and
take exams you’re in the wrong place! But if you want your child to
have fun learning to play the songs he or she wants to play then
Ariel Music School is for you!
How it works
If you want to learn the keyboard, in groups of no more than
eight, you will have a weekly lesson of 50 minutes. All pupils
will be grouped according to ability, but will all get
individual instruction appropriate to their individual needs.
All keyboards, stands, stools, and pedals will be provided – all
we ask is that you leave everything behind when you go!
Using “midi” technology, you will be taught either the melody,
the bass line, the accompaniment, or any combination of these.
The midi file will play all the other parts, and together with
this backing you will be able to play a complete piece.
Gradually, the more proficient you become the more tracks get
deleted from the midi file, until eventually you play the whole
tune un aided.
And because you will be able to play complete songs relatively
quickly, there’s no chance of getting bored!
If you
want to learn the electric guitar, you will be in groups of no
more than eight pupils per tutor. You will be taught either
rhythm guitar (chords) or lead guitar, or a combination of the
two. It's a friendly class allowing you to learn at your own,
and get your fingers round those complicated chord shapes!
All equipment will be provided, or you can bring your own guitar
– whichever you prefer
When
Lessons will last for 50 minutes and will take place on Saturday
afternoons at
Oakmeeds School in Burgess Hill. You will grouped by age and
experience, and your lessons will start at 1.30pm, 2.30pm or
3.30pm. The
lessons are just £10 per week, with a discount of 10% for a
second child from the same family or if you are a student at
Ariel
Drama Plus.
