Operations Director

CONFIDENTIAL is a new division of The CONFIDENTIAL in Norway, it is the recognised franchise for CONFIDENTIAL Recruitment Software. As Operations Director, it is my overall responsibility to market, supply, support and operate all agreements for Troy Software within the designated territory.

Contracts/Resources Manager

CONFIDENTIAL, a high profile company in Norway, supply various resources, i.e. Manpower (Inspection/Engineering), Equipment, Engineering specifications/procedures and Inspection Surveillance Services.

My responsibilities included the resourcing of all technical personnel, both Norwegian and UK Expatriates on staff and/or contract basis, for clients in Norway who are operating within the Oil, Gas and Civil Construction industry.

Totally responsible for company's bid and tender responses to clients for all services offered, this includes pricing, presentation, contractual administration/documentation and follow up support. Given responsibility for company's "Head-hunting" operation (IRM), compiling sales/presentation documentation and interview report writing.

Acted as Company Representative on various large and small commercial contracts, being totally responsible for all contractual activities, i.e. contract/commercial, negotiations/ variations, progress reporting, attending progress meetings and client liaison


Also involved with procurement, installation, tuition and procedure implementation of the new resourcing software, incorporating a large CV database covering candidate/client contact and history details, registration, letter response, contract/vacancy control.

Other duties were salary interface with accounts, recruitment advertising, interviewing, client/personnel contact, monthly reporting to board and travel/accommodation arrangements.

Deputised as Office Manager for Managing Director's absence during sales visits and vacations.

CONFIDENTIAL, September 1989 to June 1992
Recruitment Consultant (UK and International)

Relocated to CONFIDENTIAL, with the remit to assist management in establishing a contract and permanent market for the new branch, operating from the North East. This was done via calling on internal CONFIDENTIAL, cold calling external clients, client visits to build rapport, exhibitions, advertising, interviewing/selecting staff and other branch administration tasks to create and build up both a candidate and client database.

Given the responsibility to maintain all overseas contacts that had already been established through CONFIDENTIALand service any requirements that were generated, this led to placing staff in Libya, Norway, Qatar, Syria, Brunei, Japan, Iran and Europe.

Assisted management in creating a documentation and computer system for the branches use, in line with FRES regulations.

Acted as CONFIDENTIAL Company Representative on CONFIDENTIAL Inspection Contract, responsible for the hiring and administration of approx. 60 CSWIP and ERS Inspectors.

Snr. Recruitment Consultant

On return from Norway, was promoted to Snr. Consultant to take up more of an administration role over staff in the Resourcing Department. Responsible via the Resourcing Manager for compiling monthly reports to company directors on the departments performance, i.e. vacancies in to vacancies filled, outstanding vacancies, advertising costs against budgets, staff performance etc. My overall responsibility was to maintain the efficient service provided by the department.

Also took a greater role in tenders and bids and was responsible for providing information on manpower pricing/availability and supply conditions.

Reported to the Production Manager via weekly meetings, the current state of shop floor manufacturing. Involved in ordering the long lead in items and immediate materials required to coincide with production needs, monitoring over 80/90 different orders at any one time and organising delivery/collection of outside heat treatment from recommended suppliers. Also had the responsibility to ensure that all manufactured components were packaged and delivered to clients on time and as per specifications.
