PDSFLIST - Release Notes, Version 3.4       (Dated 12/10/98).

Version 3.4 of PDSFLIST is now available. This is a features and maintenance release.

New features

The member list pattern searching has been improved. Both the plus sign (+) or question mark (?) can be used as a wild character in a member name. This enables searching for members by specific length with a string name in certain positions. The use of both + or ? makes this function compatible with both VM/CMS and UNIX.

A new subcommand CANCEL has been added. This will cancel ALL active levels of PDSFLIST with one command. 

UNIX and PC-DOS subcommand compatibility. Various subcommands can now be invoked by using either UNIX or PC-DOS commands. For example, to copy member you can now use CP, MV to move members, ls or dir to invoke another list of members etc.

Maintenance changes

Internal storage management has been re-written. This has enabled the maximum dataset limit to be increased to 256 and the maximum member limit to be increased to 50,000. Moreover, each PDSFLIST level now, on average, uses 1Mb less of virtual storage.
