Easter 2000 - Good Friday 21st April to Easter Monday April 24th Abernethy Highland Games - Saturday 12th August 2000. Ian is on the committee helping to organise these traditional, amateur, friendly Highland Games, which are the oldest established games in the area. Come and observe, or take part. There is a huge variety of competitions from dancing, piping, heavy events, road and track races. The massed pipe band is an unmissable spectacle. Highland Game Fair - this is held in nearby Aviemore at the end of October each year. Fungal Season - this starts in June, but depending on the weather, reaches the main season in mid September to late October. Join Eric on a foray if conditions are right. Autumn Colours - Depending on the weather, these can be at their height for a couple of weeks at the end of September. Heather blooms from mid August to mid September.
