Ohoi Models 28% Extra 260

This again was an excellent kit to build, it's powered
by a 3W 60 and has endless vertical performance on a Bolly 22x12
prop. there's no smoke system on this one as it was built with
aerobatic comps in mind and I wanted to keep the weight down and
the performance up, also having the Ultimate with smoke I didn't want another model getting all messed up with smoke oil ( I
thought I 'd left all that messy oil behind with Glow
power.)
Both photos of the Extra are the work of John Bowman. The model is done in the early colour scheme of Patty Wagsstaff, when she was sponsored by Apollo Lorans, the original full size aircraft now hangs in the Smithsonian Institute in Washington U.S.A.

The Extra series of aircraft are designed and built by a guy in Germany by the name of Walter Extra, many are sent to America in kit form to a company called Aerosport in Florida, assembled painted to their customer's wish and delivered to said customers.
I think originally Walter Extra developed another aerobat known as the Diabolo, which I believe was a heavily modified Sstephens Acro (but that's another story). Walter then went on to produce his own series of aerobatic aircraft which I believe started with the 230 went to the 260 and on to the 300 variants that are current production, along with the newer Extra 200 as an economy version, as I believe the 300 costs in the region of $250,000 depending on specification and I believe the 200 sells for considerably less.

Above photo is of Patty Wagstaffs 99 spec Extra 300 nice hey I love the color scheme. You'll find a link to Patty's website on my home page.
