The above model is built and owned by Richard Thomas, its built from a Fiber Classic's kit and is known as a Kangaroo. The Kangaroo, a jet trainer, is powered by an AMT Mercury turbine which produces 22lbs of thrust. Richard has a few installation details to complete and then the model will be ready for initial run up tests and then on to test flights and I'm sure we all wish him luck. The color scheme is vivid to say the least ( cameraman is still suffering symptoms similar to snowblindness) there should be no excuse for disorientation with this one. I think you can see from the photos that Richard has gone to great lengths with this project which will certainly be a first for the club.

Late July and early August 2001 and after a long lay off for foot and mouth Richard finally decided to commit aviation with the Kangaroo apart from some minor teething troubles with the landing gear Richard reports that all went well and the model flies as if on rails .
