Once a person signs up for a simulation, before they can take part in the simulation, they may be required to attend the Basic Sim Guide Academy Course. Whether they are required to attend or not they will depend on adequete experience in simming using a system similar to FFSI's and on the appropriate type of simulation (IRC/Speech/E-mail).
FFSI Academy will offer different courses, covering a wide part of simming. Attending these courses will probably make you a better simmer as you will know more about the pacific field you are working in.
