The Science Council within FFSI are responsible for making sure of continuity within the galaxy. This department is broken down into several sections each of which are responsible for one area of science within FFSI.

The Bio-Science Commander takes charge of the introduction of new species or races, by following the introductory procedures as laid down in the organisation bylaws.

The R&D Commander is encharge of the introduction and design of new technology, and confirming that it in fact will fit into the current galactic system. If appropriate it can be delayed and may require to be voted on by the FFSI Council. Technology introduction must follow that laid down in the bylaws.
