My interest in this name arises in two respects.
Firstly, ANNE MOORE (----/1720) was married at Witheridge, Devon in 1679 to JOHN SQUIRE. I have not traced her baptism.
Secondly, MARY MOORE (1727/1806?) was married at Witheridge in 1755 to JOHN BURGESS.
MARY MOORE was the daughter of ANNANIAS MOORE (1678/1738) of Morchard Bishop, Devon who was married at Witheridge in 1705 to SUSANNA PARTRIDGE. ANNANIAS and SUSANNA established their family at Witheridge.
I have extracted MOORE references from the start of the parish registers for both Morchard Bishop and Witheridge and have plotted the family lines so far as possible. There are some gaps. I also have many references to the name from other Devon areas and sources.
